Flora and Fauna: As the climate and topography vary greatly in Turkey, so does the flora and fauna. The Black Sea region is renowned for its forests of leaf bearing and coniferous trees and for the apples, pears, cherries which is originated from Turkey, hazelnuts, mandarin oranges, tobacco and tea that are grown there. Along the eastern Mediterranean shores the local vegetation is tropical, with flourishing banana, palm and citrus trees and sugar cane and cotton. From the western Mediterranean, Aegean and Marmara coasts: olive, citrus and pine trees along the mountains are found. On the steppes of Central Anatolia: natural pastures with scattered-forested areas. In Europe, there are 11,500 kind of flora with flowers. In Turkey, this number is 9,000 but 3,000 of this flora only grow in Turkey
At 07:00am or earlier hrs we pick you up from hotels in Kusadasi, Izmir, Cesme, Selcuk and depart to Izmir airport for our plane (Non-Stop flight to Antalya) . Flight company Sunexpress plane depart at 08:00am morning. Arrive to Antalya (1 hr) meet with our guide and transfer to Alanya highway and arrive at Perge 18 km from Antalya. An important city of ancient Pamphylia, Perge was originally settled by the Hittites around 1500 B.C. St. Paul preached some of his first sermons here. Theatre, a large Agora, Stadium, public baths, Gymnasium and Columned Streets are the main historical places of the this magnificent ancient city. Aspendos is one of the best preserved theatres in the world. Still used even today, the theater's galleries, stage decorations and acoustics all testify to the architect's success. Nearby stand the remains of a basilica, agora and one of the largest aqueducts in Anatolia. We will have lunch in the city of Side, one of the best-known classical sites in Turkey. It was an ancient harbour whose name meant pomegranate. Today it is a pretty resort town with ancient ruins, two sandy beaches ( On summers swimming possibilities), many shops. We will also visit the Museum, Apollo Temple and theatre. After Lunch we drive to Manavgat Waterfalls to see an amazing view of the waterfalls. We will have some break there, near by hearing milky white, foaming water rushes powerfully over the rocks. Next to the waterfalls are shady tea gardens and fish restaurants making the falls a pleasant, cool resting spot, especially welcome after a day of sightseeing. And we drive back to Antalya airpor at 17:00pm for our back flight to Izmir or Istanbul. (L)
