Frontier Formalities, Passport and Visas: Nationals of the following countries can enter Turkey with a valid passport; a visa is required: Up to 3 Months Germany, Argentina, Australia, Bahamas, Bahrain, Barbados, Belize, United Arab Emirates, Denmark, Morocco, Fiji, Finland, France, Granada, Iran, Switzerland, Iceland, Jamaica, Japan, Canada, Qatar, Kenya, Kuwait, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Mauritius, Monaco, Norway, Oman, St. Lucia, San Marino, Seychelles, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Chile, Trinidad, Tobago, Tunisia, Vatican City, New Zealand, Greece, Ecuador, Sweden, Israel, South Korea, Uruguay. Up to 2 Months The Republic of Croatia, The Republic of Slovenia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Rumania, Macedonia, Indonesia. Up to 1 Month Bolivia, Kazakstan, Kyrgyzstan, The Republic of South Africa. For the countries mentioned above and Bulgaria, a transit visa is not required. Nationals of the following countries require a visa: U.S.A., Austria, United Kingdom, Ireland, Spain, Italy, Belgium, Holland, and Portugal can obtain a sticker visa at border gates (Up to 3 Months). Azerbaijan, White Russia, Armenia, Moldavia, Uzbekistan, Russia, Tadzhikistan Ukraine, Hungary, Poland, The Czech Republic, Slovakia, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Georgia, the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and Taiwan can obtain a sticker visa at border gates (Up to 1 Month). Nationals of Guatemala can obtain a visa for up to 15 days at border gates. Nationals of Jordan, up to 30 days. Nationals of all other countries require a visa, which can be obtained from the nearest Turkish embassy or consulate.
Note: Citizens of Germany, Belgium, France, The Netherlands, Luxembourg, Spain, Italy, Malta, Switzerland, and Greece may enter Turkey with the proper identity cards in lieu of a passport.
DAY 1: TRABZON: Arriving at Trabzon International Airport, transfer to hotel, diner and brief information about the trip, and overnight.
DAY 2: TRABZON, SUMELA MONASTERY, ZIGANA, KARACA CAVE: Depart for Sumela Monastery, visit the 4th century Sumela Monastery, clings to a sheer cliff face in a deep forest, relax beside a fast flowing stream at Altındere Valley National Park, lunch, traveling along the Silk Route through the Zigana Mountains will take us to Karaca Cave, considered the most beautiful in Turkey for its colors and formations, return to Trabzon, dinner & O/N.
DAY 3: TRABZON, UZUNGOL: Depart for St. Sophia ( Ayasofya ), a 13th century church and study extraordinary collection of Byzantine frescoes, depart for Gulbahar Hatun Mosque, Castle and Ataturks Mansion (a picturesque hillside retreat) visit Ortahisar Mosque (a Comneni cathedral in the old town) drive to Boztepe, drink tea and enjoy the panoramic view of the city. Depart for Uzungol, one of the most photogenic locations in the region, lunch at a fish restaurant, sightseeing and dinner & O/N at Uzungöl,
DAY 4: RIZE, FIRTINA VALLEY, AYDER: Depart for Ayder, visit botanic garden and have a panoramic view of Rize, drive to Camlihemsin through the beautiful Firtina Valley, enjoy the panorama with many of waterfalls, stone bridges on fırtına stream and lush green forests on the foothills of the magnificent Kackar Mountains, lunch and sightseeing in Ayder, dinner & O/N. in Ayder,
DAY 5: ARTVIN, BORCKA, KARAGOL: Drive to Artvin, visit Borcka Karagöl and ancient Georgian Churches Dolishane and Porta (Khantsa), dinner & O/N in Artvin,
DAY 6: KARS, BORCKA-KARAGOL , ARTVIN: Driving through the River Coruh Valley will take us to other Georcian Churches ; Ishan, Osk-Vank and visit Tortum Waterfalls on the way, lunch en route, Drive to Kars, visit Havariler Church and Kars Castle, dinner and O/N in Kars.
DAY 7: ANI, DOGUBEYAZIT: Morning tour to medieval Armenian capital of Ani, impressive fortified walls still encircle the ruins of numerous churches, mosques and caravanserais. Lunch en route drive to Dogubeyazıt, passing by the eternelly snow-covered Biblical Mount Ararat, to see Ishak Pasha Palace, dinner and O/N in Dogubeyazıt.
DAY 8: VAN: Departure for Van via Muradiye Fall, visiting the citadel of Van; the site of Tushba, capital of Urartians. Enjoying the scenery on Lake Van, excursion to the island of Ahtamar to visit the Holly Cross Church, famous for old testament reliefs on the outer wall. Dinner and overnight in Van.
DAY 9: AHLAT, MUS, ERZURUM: Departure for Erzurum via Muş-Hınıs, visiting Ahlat on the way, Arrival to Erzurum, dinner and O/N in Erzurum.
DAY 10. ERZURUM: Morning visit to Seljuk monuments; Ulu Mosque, Cifte Minareli Medrese, Yakutiye Medresesi and transfer to Erzurum Airport for a homebound flight, to Istanbul. End of tour and our services (B).
